This is OT, but from another part of the article, here we have it - why Schumer et al only talking about egg prices. "We did democracy and justice for the 2024 election, and we failed. they wanted us to do inflation. so now, we're doing inflation. Democracy / justice, nobody cares"
The problem is we have to separate what we’re hearing from the D.C. crowd from what we’re hearing in the streets. I go back to Arizona — they’re actually not talking about USAID. And they’re not talking about the courts. They’re still talking about egg prices. They’re still talking about the cost of everything. So one of the things we have to be very mindful of is that we may engage in a fight, but the rest of the American public may not be with us because they don’t understand this fight. And we need to make sure that we’re matching our politics to what actually is happening in the real world, because sometimes when we have that disconnect, we miss really, really badly. And unfortunately, now we know, we can’t miss. The stuff that’s happening right now is because we entirely missed where the American public was during the 2024 election.

This will not end well for the Trump administration. Federal courts have the power of criminal contempt. If necessary, they can appoint their own prosecutors from the private bar. If the U.S. Marshals Service refused to enforce court orders, judges may all of a sudden find that they have the power to contract privately for that as well. There is old case law that found this power was inherent at least for Congress.

Typically, those admin privileges could give someone the power to log into servers through secure shell access, navigate the entire file system, change user permissions, and delete or modify critical files. That could allow someone to bypass the security measures of, and potentially cause irreversible changes to, the very systems they have access to.

that's correct, this is due to the unusual increase in asylum seekers after Biden loosened Trump's rules when he took office (those rules have since been tightened again, but not after lots of political damage done). States like TX, FL bussed many of them to northern cities.
While the report cited multiple reasons for the recent rise, including the end of pandemic-era measures to protect the needy, Biden administration officials on a call with reporters emphasized the role of asylum-seeking migrants who overwhelmed the shelter systems where much of the increase occurred. The officials argued that, since the annual count occurred in January, the migrant crisis had begun to abate.
