If you have not installed yet, dont enable LVM in the installer. Select plain ext4 for disk partitioning. it's powerful if you know what you are doing, but it adds needless complexity if you are new to Linux.

Ubuntu is a good starter, but when you feel comfortable with Linux I recommend switching to Debian. 99% of it will be familiar to you at that point, but it is more pleasant to deal with under-the-hood.

FreeBSD was the best decision I ever made for my server. Rock solid performance, absolutely zero downtime I did not directly initiate, and the best container infrastructure of any platform period.

Gentoo for my desktops though, have to have some power-user chaos somewhere...

Basically sums up my experience with them... After my AM4 ASUS board, I'll never buy an ASUS product again.

But seriously... How do you undercurrent a USB2 port?? The board couldn't even power a flash drive reliably...

internet discrimination is not good PR, so most companies don't do it anyway. that and title II is near impossible to implement completely and correctly due to some types of traffic's self-regulating nature being a violation... there is a reason it was done away with before, not just to be evil.
