dc - punk stuff - socialist stuff
They seem to be mostly focused on advocating to push against free-speech laws in schools and universities. They have dedicated a significant amount of their effort to targeting protesters and insulting Jews who disagree with Israel's genocidal policies. Do you support these efforts by JCRC?

For context - her reendorsement for Council in 2024 received 96% of the member vote. She is unanimously popular among the pan-left in the city and especially in the DSA - a non-endorsement would be quite the shock.

Agree. These networks have also influenced Ward 1 Dems.

Endorsement procedure is also covered in the weekly update - also includes candidate questionnaire and procress. Thr weekly will be providing public notice to members and the public as things advance.

DSAs endorsement process for this race starts in a few weeks - would definitely bring the Q to raj, who is going for endorsement.

Rashida has no muscle. Complete potemkin pick from Nadeau. It's really Raj or bust - DSA will hold Raj accountable. The rest are home/business owner flunkies.

Idk what you are refering too, but DSA in DC coordinates directly with the fed unions to organize protests and solidarity efforts. The Dem Party of DC just voted to mass rescind tenants rights at the opposition of Union's positions.

Without TOPA protections, none of the new housing will ever be able to be owned or lived in permanently by anyone who occupies it. You've doomed the city Allen.
September 18, 2025 at 7:46 AM
The people of DC are coordinating mass action, mutual aid networks and rapid response protocol across the entire city with extreme depth and acumen. The Democratic Party in DC has no connection to the people and no idea how to organize or mobilize masses to action.

If something has 78% support already why does it make sense to spend all your time dwadling on it.

SMC was one of the NYC caucuses initially opposed to zohran. They came around - good for them - but your history is wrong.
August 10, 2025 at 5:20 PM
The cult of "accomplishment" continues. This is the sort of stinking thinking that makes SMC so uninspiring to so many. A professional association for union staffers is not an inspiring mobilization vehicle.

Take my advice or keep posting thru it brother.

Really doesnt feel true for me or most of the delegation im in touch with.

Probably has to do with your caucus - SMC has been out of ideas for years.

Recommend pulling out of the echo chamber and getting org news from somewhere else. Check out DCs newsletter.

Will only happen if proposers do the work of study+building infrastructure needed to sustain and initiate a proposal like this. DemCom can't push this on its own - this is not as simple as adding a few seats.

Not to be snide, but my $$ is on proposers forgetting about this like they did Mega-NPC.
August 9, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Disagree - 1m1v as a concept is underdeveloped. The structures needed to sustain and mediate a mass voting base are not built up yet. This is something you need to build up years to do... rolling out a few months prior was never going to cut it. This is something that needs to be a bylaws change.

The day NJ DSA makes a play for Trenton, will pack my bags and ship back up from DC to seal the deal. Ripe for socialism --- just needs public leadership.

The industry is not "in shambles." Employment has been higher than ever. There is no way to look objectively at data and come to this conclusion.
