Wildfire smoke followed us from further west when we visited #Yellowstone #NationalPark in Wyoming. Though the fires were far away, the smoke haze settled over the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to create this stunning, mellow light. The peace and beauty of it made a strange contrast to its cause.

I wish Autumn never had to end. Not just for the colours, but also that calmness and stillness, the quiet that hangs in the air like a physical presence. But every falling leaf is like a little tick from a clock, time passing in orange swirls and flutters.
