We already skimp on history and economics in the US, which has led to the polarization of reality and worse ing of disinformation and propaganda. Can you imagine what widespread use of AI will do to critical thinking skills? When someone doesn't have to know anything themselves?

Fun way to misrepresent some of my points and entirely skip others. No, I fully subscribed to the idea that language adapts and evolves with society. But being able to communicate effectively requires common ground.

A student who uses AI will never need to know more than the barest bones grammar and spelling rules. Hell, with how good typo recognition is getting, they won't even need to know that. They don't need to read history books or absorb the lessons. They don't need to critically think about text.
