A lot of the other systems and weapons have additional effects or are meant to impaired the players in some way so I figured giving it a pure damage option wouldn't be bad.

Mostly I was trying to go for the theme that it's dual lasers being fired and my thoughts process was either higher initial damage or 2 shots

I pair this with narratively the players sensors glitching now and then to hint something is there, also AOEs would reveal it if hit.
