I've been contemplating whether dems actually want all this, possibly more than the gop, because they're banking on all these horrors pushing voters to the left so they win big in November and then... go back to doing the same old. That'd explain why they're not lifting a finger right now.

Harass, brutalize, and punish are arguably too soft to describe what's happening. The GOP is trying to flip these states the only way they know how: removing the opposing votes. Deport dem voters, imprison dem voters, incite retaliation to outwardly justify genocide of dem voters.
