Not sure if it's a motivation for a child, but waking up and getting ready to be ready for anytime people need something, or to be ready to help out. The external motivation not the internal motivation. Best of luck for sure.

Also that every single answer in every piece of course work is not a judgement on one's ability and worth. Also also that sometimes the things they are doing at that age pay off later in ways it is difficult to explain to people who haven't spent decades doing that stuff.

I wouldn't say that I *know* but recalling why I didn't do much homework it might help to link this to something they want, or some wider objective, or even just pointing out that it's easier to do it than to not do it.

It's sometimes a jurisdictional thing. Here everything starts with a referral from your primary physician.

I bet if you:

1) teach them to make pancakes
2) tell them that they can have as many pancakes as they like as long as they make their own pancakes
3) buy flour/milk/sugar/eggs/etc. in bulk

Then your pancake expenses will increase at a lower rate than pancake consumption.
