My character Trecheon lost both arms in the War of Eons and can't feel through the prosthetics.

Matt is a very physical person when he shows affection for people. He shows this a lot through hugs and shoulder grabs and whatnot.

Trecheon can't feel through his shoulders though.

A big part of the book is Zeke and Leah overcoming the pain of their pasts and finding joy in each other. They eventually learn they can have a (platonic) physical relationship with each other and fight back that touch starvation they've faced their whole lives.

That's not the only story though!

Leah, on the other hand, has a healing magic that allows her to see a person's full medical history (and often feel it intimately and emotionally) just by touching them. It's considered a great personal invasion, so she simply doesn't touch people... and no one touches her.

Then the two meet.

Zeke is ace/aro, but he's learned that his contemporaries generally see physical touch as a sexual thing. His parents were big huggers, but people thought he was "after something" when he hugged them as he got older.

This made him distance himself, since people didn't seem to trust him. (cont)

Funny you mention this, since it's a big part of several characters' lives.

A big theme and plot point of Zyearth book 3, Mage, is the fact that Zeke and Leah are touch starved, but really struggle with finding people who are willing to be physical with them. (cont)

I do! Made it for rent faire a few years back. :D I'd love to redo the tail and feet at some point though.

Drew a random colorful ice cream cone with my kiddo's cheap markets to stave off the insanity from grading dozens of terrible essays full of AI.

This is Andy. He comes running when my mom sings. (She admits she's a terrible singer)

This was his reaction to me singing. (I've done choirs my whole life.)

I don't tend to read THICC books as a whole, so probably... my own books, lol. They tend to be around 400-450 pages. But outside of that, probably @authorjessowen.bsky.social's By The Silver Wind, 473 pages. Close to Angel at 514!

Sometimes redemption is just a small part of a characters arc, such as Matt learning to get over xenophobia based on events from his past, or Jaden recognizing bad mistakes he made in response to his hurting and PTSD. You don't have to be a villain to seek redemption!
October 20, 2025 at 10:45 PM
And for some, much of the redemption has to come from inside. Trecheon and Neil are accepted and forgiven pretty quickly in the series, but it takes a far longer time for them to accept that redemption in their own minds.

Others change over time, and have incredibly detailed backstories, such as Ethos, Pathos, and Logos, the assassins from Triple Fawn, a magical mafia.
October 20, 2025 at 10:45 PM
Others go full swing from horrible villain to self-sacrificing hero at the end, like Ryota, who still has a long way to go. (So much so that he'll need an entire spin off book series to fix it all.)

One of these days I'll fix that cover.

Zyearth is AWASH with redemption arcs. It's one of my favorite tropes. Trecheon, Neil, Ouranos, Ryota, and The Triple Danger, to name a few, plus more upcoming with new books.

Some of them are "light" where the only reason they're the villain is because they're coerced, like Ouranos.

What am I known for??

My cat Pepper HATES the cone so we went for a cat suit instead. Not sure if that's an option for Artemis, but they're super cheap on Amazon!

OMG what a coincidence, LOL. Don't know about yours, but my Leah is actually modeled after my actual cat Leah. They have very similar markings. XD

If you see this, post a girl with glasses.

Here's Leah, my favorite girl with glasses. ;)

In 2020 I did a bunch of Pokemon for the October art trends, and I'm thinking I wanna do it again...

This is my take on a ghost type Lugia. I should do something like this again - Pokemon with different types. XD

Hoo boy, here's a doozy of a question for Zyearth.

Trecheon, native Earthling, just entered his 30s in book 5.

Matt, native Zyearthling, is in his mid 60s. Though he's considered a young adult on Zyearth!

But Ouranos, also a native Earthling, is almost 200 years old! (cont.)

Artists and writers, quote with your queer characters!

Nearly every Zyearth character fits somewhere on the queer spectrum, but these two are my favorite. Zeke Azure-Brightclaw and Leah Nealia, my mostly acespec queer platonic couple. <3 My babies!
