Another artist who worked on Wares Blade was Takashi Okazaki, who supplied this piece on the back of the original books in the first Wares Blade boxset. Okazaki is the creator of Afro Samurai.

I mentioned the other day that one of the artists was Hiroyuki Hataike, better known as Takehiko Ito, who worked on lots of well known mecha things (Dunbine, Gunbuster, Escaflowne) but is probably best known for creating Outlaw Star. He is credited with the design of the Niki Vashmarl.

Was going to post art and such from my old Wares Blade books tonight but after hauling old furniture out of my basement and installing a new dryer today, I think I'll do this tomorrow. So for now, folks who are interested in this old game, watch this space!

Talking about Wares Blade today reminded of when I learned that that mecha designer for several of the books was a guy credited as Hataike Hiroyuki, but that turned out just to be a pen name of Takehiko Itō, of Outlaw Star and Ryu Knight fame.
