I had an A1000 back in the day, so couldn't play the Amiga version - a mate had an MD so I played on that instead. To this day I prefer the MD version, it has to be said.

It's just old, and designed for windows XP era PCs. I'm surprised it works at all :D
Besides, I prefer SpecBAS these days!

I gave Elden Ring a try and goddamn there's bloody boss fights every few steps you take. It's like Dark Souls all over again.
If ever a game needed a "skip the boss fight" button it's that one.

Yeah ultimately it was the FPS games that did for the Amiga - planar graphics couldn't keep up, and a workable Doom port was a long way off.
A lot of folks wonder what Amiga would have been had it not been killed off, but the PC revolution was unstoppable so ... probably it would have been a PC.
