We need to do better. Our vehicles have gotten so fast/heavy that we should separate fast/heavy from slow/light for local use.

I like to remind people that there is tremendous opportunity between "bike" and "car". Expanding bike paths for local commuting can be a safe space for new designs to evolve.

... and heavier. Imagine 9,000 lbs with a 2,000 lb battery just to move one or maybe two people around. Plenty of space between "bike" and "car" to create efficient vehicles.

This "LEV" is just a sample pulled from the internet. I call these the "horseless carriage of the 21st century". That's all we need to move people around locally. They can be locally produced with shared designs, including heat and A/C. Easily charged with solar or 120vac outlets.

An example of a simple, efficient vehicle filling the huge gap between a 50 lb ebike and a 5,000 lb EV. This type of fully-enclosed vehicle can have heat and A/C, use expanded bike paths, and can be charged with standard 120vac household outlets, i.e. the infrastructure is cheaper and simpler too.

What is an "EV"? Expanding protected and connected bike paths focused on local transportation can absolutely boost EV adoption in small towns and cities. The horseless carriage of the 21st century ("LEV") can be fully enclosed with heat and A/C.
