It's truly amazing how these folks have no functional understanding of how anything works. The ACA is precisely the model he's longing for. However, it turns out that selling health insurance is kind of a bad business when you actually have to cover people and pay benefits.

It's truly a wasteland. Looking beyond the 1st round, it's almost bleaker. The only serviceable MLB guys drafted any round between 2015 and 2020 were Brendan Rodgers, Jake Bird, and Brenton Doyle. Next best guys are Hampson, Lawrence, and maybe Hilliard??? Best season is Rodgers with 4.3 bWAR.

Having consulted the same exact webpage a few hours ago, it's remarkable how bad the drafting has been. Signing Ian Desmond cost them a pick in 2017, but that probably saved them another embarrassment.

Is that just rich-guy solidarity? Is he their useful idiot? He's the guy dumb enough to say the super unpopular stuff that all the owners secretly want but are savvy enough to not say out loud? I'm sure the other NL West owners love the fact that the Rockies are completely incompetent.

Instead, he seems to be deliberately draining out any last reason to care about this organization. He has no credibility in the industry. No one with a second option will ever want to be in this org. And he seems determined to be the face of the lockout. Is he trying to be the worst owner in sports?

Hard to argue otherwise. But, I hope Dick knows that he can chose to not have a lockout. It seems like he is a critical voice in the matter.

However, Judge is pretty clearly the best hitter in the game by a rather wide margin (perhaps except for some guy named Ohtani). bWAR is decisively in Judge's favor or Raleigh, and the Yankees are winning... It would be "boring" but justified... just like all the Trout years.

Raleigh is having the third best season as a catcher since 1900 by fWAR. The two guys ahead of him Posey (2012) and Bench (1972) both won MVP. He plays a much more important position than Judge. Mariners won their division for the first time in 25 years. It wouldn't be a travesty...
