But, adding support on all levels (SDL&kernel) takes time, so we decided to start working on our userspace utility which fills in the gap (for now).
We're aiming for functionality. I'll prolly join SDL and kernel efforts later once we polish our implementation.

If Steam Input were (F)OSS, Id have just contrib'd support for the Sw2 controllers (Pro, GC, N64) there
Everyone uses Steam, adding controller support there it feels like the best way to provide solid hrdw support. Steam (Input) is already so well established

About driver and BT, we decided to make it a userspace driver. This makes the installation of our implementation simpler and cross platform (Python prototype uses Bleak, Rust btleplug)
