Unreal. I met Katie Wilson briefly ages ago and she struck me as smart, capable, and down-to-earth. The idea of her leading Seattle after a decade-plus of scandal and corruption at the top is unbelievably refreshing.

In elections next week, including and especially by voting for Wilson over Harrell, Seattle has a chance to chart a course away from prioritizing the needs of big tech over everything else. I cannot cross my fingers hard enough.

In my undergrad-era short story "The Upseller" I imagined a future pharmacy chain with robotic arms which forced random items for purchase into shoppers' carts. I didn't have the tech right, but I think I got the jist ok
