What Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion means to me.
America was built on a promise, not a slogan, not a soundbite, but a truth lived and fought for. Diversity—our strength, not our weakness, a nation of exiles, seekers, dreamers, where roots did not decide destiny. Equity—etched into law, not charity, not favor, but a structure meant for fairness. Inclusion—an unfinished road, paved by those who refused to be shut out, who widened the table, made room for all. Now, these principles are twisted, turned into fear, weaponized to divide. But I have seen their power In classrooms, in lives changed, in students who rise when given the chance. This is not theory, not politics, but the work of justice, the fight for right. Diversity did not weaken us. Equity did not break us. Inclusion did not threaten us. They are what made us strong. They are what keep us strong. They are what built America.
