Solastalgia is a term that combines "solace" (comfort) and "algia" (pain or suffering). It describes a unique form of distress or sadness that people feel when their familiar environment is changing or being destroyed, often due to environmental degradation, climate change, or urbanization.

If you don't want to read the academic paper for this one, here's a good summary of it that was published in WaPo back in 2015. The biggest impact universal basic income will have will always be on kids. They will grow up to be better, healthier adults with fewer mental disorders.

If unconditional basic income existed, this man would still be alive. It's not up to the government to decide who deserves enough money to live and who doesn't. It's a matter of human rights. Conditions on survival income are unacceptable.
