Rereading Ramose for a paper and endlessly grateful for the dynamism that hunhu/ubuntu afford personhood and being. Not simple existence, but a contingent and relational existence. Not just being, but a constant enfolding of one’s being: a becoming-being, hunhu/ubuntu as “verbal nouns.”

There’s got to be some kind of pathological delusion underlying his persistent need to raise the stakes of his so-called work. His domestic grift is sick and twisted enough, and it’s almost beyond the realm of belief to see he’s inserting himself into international hostage negotiation

Mostly frustrated with academia at the moment, but one of the things that keeps me in it is the fact I can be done teaching by noon and at my favorite beach by 2:30.

I’m case anyone is interested in my back to school COVID harm reduction strategy in addition to N95 masking.

In addition to this, I also have a combination vent fan, desk fan, open windows, and air purifier in my office. Will get a box of surgical masks to give to people who come for meetings.

For being capital of a country whose prevailing Holocaust mythos is that many many many of its gentile citizens also hid Jewish people in their homes á la Ann Frank, there are A LOT of Stolpersteine in Amsterdam — this one next to my neighborhood grocery store.

I once read a defense of these shitty bus “benches” saying that because our lives are so sedentary and it isn’t the best for the human body to be perpetually at a 90 degree angle hinged at the hips (true), it’s better for us to stand at stations (absolutely stupid) #hostilearchitecture
