Finished #GhostOfYotei last night.
I had so much fun sinking into the game for hours. I loved the characters, I shed a tear during the ending. Couldn't have asked for more.
Sucker Punch did an amazing job polishing the GoT formula instead of going for more drastic changes just for the sake of it.

A sports anime done right. The pacing is great, balancing nicely between serious, overdramatized moments - typical for the genre - and lighthearted scenes long enough to let characters take shape, but short enough to not drag out the story.

Over 25 years had to pass since the first time I saw Mario Kart being played right in front of me, for me to actually get to play the game myself.
And I'm really enjoying it. Better late than never, I suppose.

What deserves praise are the world design and gameplay. Shadows' Japan is gorgeous and an absolute joy to travel through. It's not a world designed with good ol' parkour in mind, but sneaking in the shadows as Naoe was fun - probably the best experience in this matter in a long while in the series.

Every single thing about this game's writing is forgettable.
The characters - painfully bland. The main story - carrying zero weight whatsoever. The sub-stories - strong in numbers, below weak in substance. Honestly, I found it impossible to get invested in anything happening here.

After almost 90h spent in the game, I can finally say I'm done with Assassin's Creed Shadows' story.
It's gotta be the worst pile of narrative crap this series has ever seen. Seriously. Ubisoft Quebec somehow managed to put even their own magnum crapus - AC Odyssey - to shame with this one.
