A little while ago, I translated from Polish, edited the English text, and, together with one of my best comrades @rhyddical.bsky.social , designed and typeset a book titled Freedom or Death: The War in Ukraine and the Refugee Crisis. 1/4

Chocolate habaneros are some of the prettiest chillies I’ve grown.

Also, a dead fascist is always the best outcome, and a life-saving one.

I can’t even begin to explain how strongly familiar this experience is. Thanks to the author for this text, and to @freedompress.bsky.social for publishing it.

It seems that my response to the general state of this world, and in particular the latest season of America, is to try to stay a decent person, share what I can, be ready to punch a nazi when I see one, and escapism by excessive baking to keep sane.

Today’s baking: whole orange cake (well, more accurately 4,5 whole oranges cake) and seeded bread. Good day so far.

Tweets that didn’t age well eh.

It’s a great, and rare these days, feeling to wake up to some amazing news.

You are right, from experience (it is an experience of Eastern European migrant), Americans use it too, so do others if they consider themselves from “better” parts of the World. But in Guardian’s books the term is reserved for Brits exclusively.
