I think it’s the latter from experience. I applied for other jobs after only 6 months at my previous one and got a lot of shit for it. One company forced me to do an extra interview AFTER a verbal offer to question my short tenure. Manager was rude as hell and ended up rejecting my offer lol.

Ah, IG people. The most intelligent and civilized group of humans ever known to man.

This is the thing that makes me angry the most. There are so many things that MSFT can do to improve the experience of the users AND the engineers but they decide not to do it cause it's not related to AI, it's not "cool", it's not something they can make a stupid "demo" about. So so disappointed !

Microsoft literally does not care about any products right now that don't link up deeply and directly with Copilot, and NPM is just never really going to be good for that.

And before that, it's because registries just plain aren't good business endeavors. They're *terrible* for that!!

Oh, I need the answer for this too. Literally all my life, the only motivator I have is urgency/anxiety, and it definitely is not good for my health. I hate that feeling when I am scared to death but still have to work because of the deadline 😂

As somebody who is looking for a new job, I can not describe how much I want this to be real right now.

Oh wow, that's really huge. I feel like if I was you, I would probably reject the PR. 110 files is a giant PR with so many risks in my opinion.

I am noticing this too and I curate my feed extremely carefully but somehow still see lots of weird and negative posts from people I don't want to see at all.

I guess it depends on the company ? Because I used to work at a company where they actually used the number of PRs as a metric for how productive an engineer was (a terrible one obviously).

75% is still way too generous, in my opinion. Literally, my entire feed is full of AI-generated or completely made-up stories that nobody asked for.

What a brilliant idea, Mark! I bet nothing bad will come out of this !

I made a mistake in the past by ignoring all the red flags from the hiring manager because I really needed a job at that time. Working there ended up being one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had. 10/10 would not recommend.

I was building an AI agent for my team. The amount of time I had to rewrite the prompt to make the agent do the most simple requirement is INSANE. Worse, I have to explain to my manager why it took me so long to add a "simple" requirement because he did not believe AI can be that dumb.

Honestly I only announce it after working there for at least 3 to 4 months just to be safe ...

Thanks a lot for your time! I guess I'm just extra worried since I was roasted and rejected by a company in the past for wanting to switch jobs too soon. I guess it's more common than I thought.

Oh wow, I also want to quit because of my boss. Any suggestions on how to answer this? To make things worse, I left my last job after a year to join this company. My current company is pretty popular so I’m unsure if I can use the "I want something more challenging" reason like I did in the past.

Hi Kat, I've been at a tech company for 6 months but genuinely hate it. I'm planning to find a better job but fear recruiters see this as a huge red flag. The job market is also pretty shitty right now, so I'm unsure what to do. I’d really appreciate your input on this.

I have two modes: if the interview goes well, I'll dance around like I just won the lottery. If it goes the opposite way, I'll have a mental breakdown for the next three hours (at minimum).

I tried using an LLM to improve my writing before to test it out. I’d say it did better with vocabulary and grammar compared to someone like me who’s not a native speaker. However, it completely stripped away my personality. Like, no, for fuck's sake, do not remove my goddamn swear words.

I once interviewed at a company, passed all required rounds, and got a verbal offer from HR. However, the hiring manager requested another interview "to learn more about me." They were extremely disrespectful and rejected me, never really giving a reason when I asked. Worst interview of my life.

Oh, I get that. For me, a "chill" team means people feel free to speak their minds. I’ve worked in teams where people panic before meetings with their manager and others where they’re excited to talk. From my experience, the latter always delivers better results.

From personal experience, I work best in a "chill" team with a bit of humor. I’ve been in teams where every meeting feels like a battlefield, and I simply can’t perform well in those environments.
