I forgot about the prescription drug prices. In the US I probably would've died by 25. I've been on infliximab for over 20 years and it's one of the major things keeping my Crohn’s in check & me alive. It's expensive even in Europe, but in my country the price for citizens is capped.

Who wants to move to the US for work or anything when you see the ICE raids? There's no guarantees they won't come after people on work visas. Why would you put yourself in a situation where you'll be at minimum sent back in a very embarrassing way? At worst you could get hurt or killed.

Just for the record, the USian healthcare system is not the envy of the world. It is world class only to the 1%, the less fortunate are free to die without care at home or go bankrupt and homeless. The maternal death rate is horrid for a supposedly developed nation, especially if you're POC.
