I’m taking the JLPT N4 today. I’ve spent the past four months studying like a motherfucker, reading and listening to as much Japanese as possible (I haven’t read an English language book since September) and I keep tanking the practice tests. Doing my best but 😬

I'm convinced that neither side wants the government shutdown to end.

Rs *love* that people aren't getting their SNAP benefits & that workers aren't getting paid. Their whole thing is shrinking the gov't.

Ds don't want to actually have to DO anything, and can blame it all on Rs.

How long until the remake The Godfather and cast Timothy Chalomet as Michael? And why would he actually be perfect in that role?

Ultimately I doubt it will stop Trump from doing anything, but it's SOMETHING. Other Dems need to step up.

Thank you, Sen. Booker.

Finally getting around to Legends: Arceus after finally completing Pokemon Violet, and it's astounding the degree to which LA is the clear path forward for 3D Pokemon games.

Do you think SV's dev team saw LA and was like, "Oh. Fuck. They nailed it"?

Watching Godzilla c Kong, and not for nothin’ but Mary Elizabeth Ellis would’ve been perfect for the main white lady role. Would’ve brought some much needed charm and humanity to the whole movie.

Has anyone asked Trump why he’s doing what he’s doing? Really asked? Because all we seem to get is “Step 1: Do something terrible. … Step 3: MAGA!!”

If there were any actual journalist in this country, they would be asking Trump very simple questions daily like “what the fuck are you doing? “

The Silicon Valley billionaires & techno-feudal lords who are waging a capitalists' coup right now are rebelling against the people & the "free market" for rejecting them & the tech they need us to become dependent on. We need more people like Brian Driscoll and Robert Kissane.

The purges are starting and we need people to refuse to comply.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

The TikTok ban is bullshit. If it were actually about "TikTok’s data collection practices and relationship with a foreign adversary", Facebook and Twitter would've been banned a long time ago.

This is a dangerous and frankly incorrect headline from the NY Times. Kennedy had been beating the anti-vax drums for YEARS before the pandemic. Indeed, he was one of the talking heads normalizing exposing children to deadly illnesses.

It's fascinating watching corporate media try to spin this. "The mood changed dramatically in a very short period of time." Oh, did it, or were you not paying attention?

How do I become a Democratic strategist? Because I feel like there's no possible way I could be worse than the people they hired for the Harris campaign.

Plus I'd get to yell at liberals all day.
