I’d say you’re overthinking it. I follow some streamers that’ll just sit and play a game quietly while the chat interacts with themselves. Usually some of the streamers will occasionally check in on the chat and either talk about what was written or answer what ever questions were posted.

Wait until you play Final Fantasy XIV. I’ve lost count how many times that game’s made me cry and I’m still only just finishing the end of the first expansion.
