I like it. There's too much about book blurbs that feels like a popularity contest. A book's quality shouldn't be judged based on an author's connections. And from a mktg lens, it also assumes readers are idiots and don't know how to judge by themselves whether or not a book is for them.

I had put A Master of Djinn in my bookshop cart earlier, but I realize now that maybe I should read this one first! Is the series connected throughout, or is each Dead Djinn novel a standalone story within the same universe?
