There's a brief break in the rain early today before a cold front arrives, bringing widespread heavy downpours (.5-1.5") and gusty winds (35+ mph) moving from northeast to southwest tonight. Drier/sunnier by Tuesday and Wednesday, before MORE rain arrives into Thursday! @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 16, 2025 at 6:05 PM
WOW...parts of SoCal saw more than 5x the normal TOTAL rainfall for the month of November in just the past 3 days.

The South Bay got a nice soaking compared to the North Bay (not super common here) thanks to a cutoff low. Enjoy dry weather before another storm arrives tonight! @kpixtv.bsky.social

Today's storm is just the first in a series of THREE storms that are forecast to impact the Bay Area. This first system will wrap up early Sunday, before another moves in Sunday evening - Monday. Tuesday will be dry, before ANOTHER storm looks to move in late Wednesday-Thursday! @kpixtv.bsky.social

Timing out the rain across the Bay Area this weekend: @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 15, 2025 at 5:56 PM
SoCal is getting slammed by an AR this morning, with 1-4" of rain already and an additional 1-3" likely. Flash flooding/landslides are a concern.

Rain will spread north through early tomorrow morning, with the South/East Bay likely seeing the highest totals across our area. @kpixtv.bsky.social

Let's time out the Bay Area's incoming rain and winds:

The worst impacts from this approaching atmospheric river will arrive to the coast/northern half of the Bay Area from 4 - 10 AM, southern half from 7 AM - 3 PM, with gusty winds and nuisance flooding likely. @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 13, 2025 at 7:07 AM
WHY is the storm system that's about to slam into California called an 'Atmospheric River'? The term sounds scarier than it is - a stream of water vapor in the sky, literally a river of moisture in the atmosphere. These are very common in the fall/winter across the West Coast! @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 12, 2025 at 2:41 AM
TIMING OUT THE BAY AREA'S NEXT BIG RAIN MAKER:

Overnight Wednesday into Thursday the bulk of the rain will arrive, with pockets of heavier downpours (1-2") and gusty winds (50 mph) through the morning hours. Drier/quieter weather will return Thursday evening into Friday. @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 12, 2025 at 2:32 AM
The Great Lakes snowstorm will bring 3-6" across the highest elevations of of New England through tonight. There's also Freeze Warnings for parts of FL - be prepared for falling iguanas🦎

But don't worry, warmer weather will return later this week and into the weekend! @kpixtv.bsky.social

Get ready for another round of weather WHIPLASH, Bay Area! After some BEAutiful November weather the past few days, another storm is going to bring widespread rain and gusty winds late Wednesday into Thursday. Highs will stay cool into the weekend, so I hope you enjoyed the warmth while it lasted...

A tale of two VERY different weather stories across the United States today: cold and snowy east, warm and sunny west.

Growing up in Chicago, I'm used to Lake Effect Snow...and I do miss it at times...but right now I'm feeling pretty grateful I live in California😅 @kpixtv.bsky.social

Since Northwest Indiana saw so much snow over the past 24 hours, I had to give my parents (who live there) a big shout out on CBS News 24/7!

But the snow and cold won't last much longer - you'll be back in the 50s/60s with plenty of sunshine later this week and into the weekend!

What can you expect this week across the Bay Area?

Sunny/warm Monday, cloudier by Tuesday, cooler by Wednesday. Our next storm system arrives late Wednesday, bringing widespread rain into Thursday. Rain chances continue Friday, with another storm possible late next weekend. @kpixtv.bsky.social

In honor of LEVIS reopening the doors to it's SF museum, The Vault (looking at the history/displaying some of the most famous jeans) @maxdarrow.bsky.social and I were debating pulling out our best Canadian Tuxedo - what do you think?!

We have fun in the mornings - tune in every weekend at 6 AM!

After some gorgeous November days, another case of WEATHER WHIPLASH is on the way across the Bay. The Aleutian and cutoff low's moisture will merge over the West Coast, bringing on and off rain starting late Wednesday. Rainfall totals are still uncertain, so stay up to date! @kpixtv.bsky.social

Karl the fog giving us a big hug this morning☁️

I’ve been here a year and a half and I think this is up there for top foggiest mornings in downtown San Francisco🌁
November 8, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Much drier conditions will arrive tonight in the wake of today's storm system. The coast will still be churned up, with beach hazards tomorrow and coastal flood advisories into the weekend. Highs will gradually warm through the weekend - before more rain chances mid next week! @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 6, 2025 at 3:51 AM
The storm earlier today packed a punch - bringing a 93 mph wind gust to NorCal, and 60+ mph gusts to the Bay Area. It also brought 1"+ of rain to the North Bay and Santa Cruz Mtns, with a stark cutoff between 1"+ areas and the rest of the Bay Area that only received .01-.25". @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 6, 2025 at 2:57 AM
Opposite sides of the country are dealing with similar weather impacts:

The Pacific Northwest will continue to deal with an atmospheric river through Friday, bringing more winds, rain, and snow.

New England is dealing with clipper storm 2 out of 3, also bringing more winds, rain, and snow.
November 5, 2025 at 10:39 PM
6 7...I still don't totally understand it, but I hope you all understand that there's going to be a strong storm moving over the Bay Area around 6, 7 AM (hehe, get it?) tomorrow morning. It'll be a quick mover but pack a punch, with gusty winds 60+ mph being the biggest concern. @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 5, 2025 at 3:16 AM
Two big storms across the country this week: New England will see another clipper storm late Wed - Thurs, bringing strong winds, rain, and snow chances.

West Coast is feeling the effects of an atmospheric river, with the worst impacts through early Wed; get ready for 60+ mph winds and heavy rain.
November 4, 2025 at 11:38 PM
Enjoy the warm weather inland today before temperatures cool back down to seasonable starting tomorrow. Relatively quiet conditions will stick around through Tuesday before a strong front moves over the Bay Area Wednesday morning - bringing windy, rainy, and cooler weather. @kpixtv.bsky.social
November 2, 2025 at 6:54 PM
It's been a lovely weekend across California, but BIG changes are on the way as our next atmospheric river approaches. It'll be cooler tomorrow, but the storm won't arrive until late Tuesday. It will be mostly beneficial rain, but gusty winds up to 50 mph early Wednesday will be the biggest issue.

Check out this gorgeous timelapse😍 Did you notice the fog kind of looks like ocean waves? That's because clouds (and the atmosphere in general) are constantly flowing...this is my reminder to you all that the atmosphere is a FLUID, like the ocean, and it moves like one! @kpixtv.bsky.social
