🎉 I am excited to share a preprint led by a Computer Science Co-Op/Honours student in my lab, Kylie DeViller. Kylie used comprehensive morphometrics to examine variation across 5700+ apple images describing independent variation in fruit shape and size. Great work!🍏🍎💻

It's always pretty easy to spot the Turkish apple cultivar Kandil Sinap in the orchard of trees. Not many with shapes like this, even in Canada's Apple Biodiversity Collection of over 1,000 different apple trees.
