I have been extremely lucky…few people outside of family and close friends know..theyve been very good with the exception of a few that ignore the injuries and claim to hate the nephew. It’s been so hard to watch my sister struggle with all the mental of her, her husband and both her sons.

I agree / it’s the one thing I know we as a country are not addressing enough!!!
December 17, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Oh for sure, it’s just each mental “ break” as it was explained to us creates even more issues and the danger escalates.

Will he get out and when?
December 17, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Have you and I talked about this before? I knew when I read your response you had something personal from the familiar way you mentioned mental illness. Mine is way too fresh, just barely 2 years since the stabbing and only a year in the mental hospital her in Michigan. Our major concern is -

Would harm them). It is such a horrific experience and I’m especially sad they are living it wide open in the public’s eyes with ALL the news on them constantly. We were lucky…it never made our local news or had one report done on it even though there 10 cop cars, 2 ambulance & a firetruck at their

Him about this last week). While the news says he’s a drug addict my instinct tells me he’s mentally ill & using drugs was his way of coping (maybe even hearing voices like my nephew). The safest thing is they probably all new how sick he was, but not dangerous (my family NEVER thought my nephew

I’m not sure that’s possible Trish. This is so similar to what happened to my sisters family 2 yrs ago I’m having flashbacks myself. My nephew (mentally ill) stabbed his father 7 times & was going to kill my sis & his brother. The brother will NOT think about forgiving him even now(I just talked

JFC these people are sick!
December 17, 2025 at 2:30 AM
Yes it is. Mental health is desperately neglected here.
December 17, 2025 at 12:59 AM
There is no system here to keep a mentally ill person in a facility long term. So if he doesn’t go to jail for his crime the court can accept a not guilty by reason of insanity plea (which is what a defense attorney would suggest he do) and he could be released.
December 16, 2025 at 11:24 PM
So in the U.S. he will get, NGRI - not guilty by reason of insanity. POSSIBLY get some time in a mental hospital…but not for sure.
