First week of placement:

* Cut nails and removed callus
* Dressed ulcers on toes
* Performed nail surgery

Podiatry really is a varied and interesting job

Podiatry training means long days and early mornings.
I had a great time at @footankleshow in Liverpool yesterday (weird sneaky selfie face 😆)

This morning I was greeted by this lovely sunrise on my way to uni 😃 #podiatryStudent #footandankleshow2025 #sunrise #commuting #studentlife #badselfie

With more cold weather on the way, keep your feet warm and dry with these tips:
- Bamboo socks (hypoallergenic, antibacterial & moisture wicking)
- Waterproof socks to keep feet dry.
- Supportive & foot-shaped footwear
- Micro-spikes for grip on ice & snow

My partner gave me a loom for Christmas. No more uni work is going to get done for the rest of the holiday 😆😆 (and, yes, I love my crocs 😁) #podiatryStudent #universityHolidays #weaving #crocs #downTime

assisted in a nail surgery the other day with Claire, one of the podiatrists at The Foot Hut Podiatry.

The nail had been treated conservatively for months before the decision was made to remove it.

Learning soft casting today. We made heel cups

A super useful, quick way of making off-loading devices to help with maintain an environment where foot ulcers (either diabetic foot ulcers, or pressure ulcers) can heal.

The research presentation went really well. I’m proud of our poster and that we managed to say everything we wanted to in our allotted time.

Today I treated a patient with a persistent corn on the top of her little toe joint. It’s the third time I’ve seen her and enucleated the corn. With regular treatment the corn is getting smaller and causing less discomfort.

Very much enjoying listening to Pod Chat Live on the way to university. I’m getting excited for podiatry research topics 😃
