I've heard an explanation of this from a friend in GameDev, which might hold a little truth. He avoids a careful unit-tested approach to embrace mistakes, which can be the seeds of creativity which creates cool game mechanics. Bob Ross happy little accidents if you will.

If I was in a flood, and someone left me "high and dry", I'd be pretty happy. Sounds like she's doing a good job ;)

I'm all for being critical of the gov't and big pharma and agree that this could have been much better. I still think it was probably good to be proactive, and try to save lives once the vaccine was proven be safe/effective. Assumptions around transmission impact were ultimately correct, no?

To summarize: explicit testing of the vaccines' effect on transmission (as opposed to just being safe and effective treatment) wasn't compete before some vaccine-passport (etc...) regulations were in place, which some people feel is unethical?

That sounds truly frustrating. But I also believe the gov't has the responsibility to provide the people safe services (like schools), and experts overwhelmingly agree that unvaxxed people compromise that safety for others. I'm not sure that I'd label that tyranny, but I can see why you do.

I'm not really super clear on the extent of the mandates, but I was under the impression that no one was forcibly vaccinated. Wasn't it just a mandate if you wanted to use certain services to lower risk for everyone sharing those services? I know people who remained unvaxxed and didn't go to jail.
