No president has the unilateral authority to carry out a direct military action this significant and with such potential consequences without first coming to Congress.
It is why I have joined a bipartisan coalition supporting Reps. Massie and Khanna's War Powers legislation to reassert our role.
As Leader @RepJeffries stated, Donald Trump bears the heavy burden of explaining this strike to the American public. This is a flagrant and unconstitutional action that potentially brings our nation to the precipice of war.
My thoughts are with our brave men and women who defend this country. Now Congress must immediately reclaim our Constitutional authority and conduct rigorous oversight of President Trump's decision to carry out this attack.

@jamellebouie.net since you are into Scifi, there’s a story that I think is very relevant to today, by (problematic but please hear me out!) author Orson Scott Card in the 1970’s, before he went full red hat.

It’s called “Breaking the Game” and the antagonist destroys a game empire, the a real one.

He had gauged the hatred better than the computer itself; he had destroyed more thoroughly than any man had ever built. And in his bitterness at the wrecking of his creation, Herman still had to recognize a kind of majesty in what Doon had done. But it was a satanic majesty, a regal power to destroy.

I was driving down East St about 15 minutes ago and just past Blessed Sacrament/Diamond St, traffic was stopped by a man wearing a vest that said FBI on it and a mask pulled up over his mouth. There were other blacked out SUVs and a handful of other men wearing the same vests and masks. Some of them were reaching into the back of one of the SUVs, giving the impression they had just put someone back there. Then they all got into the SUVs and pulled away. Did anyone else see that and have any idea what was happening?
