Ghost was left starstruck. hearing his name fall from the other mans lips was enough to make him understand why people devote their lives to an idol. as mass began and Ghost went through the motions of standing up for hymns and sitting down for prayers,

"i need to go get ready for mass now but it was lovely to meet you.." John trailed off. "Simon." Ghost offered. John's face crinkled up into a smile again "Simon. i hope to see you around again" and with that he got up and walked to the front of the church, exchanging pleasantries along the way.

"going from the military to civilian life is a process, people will never say but going back to 'normal' is one of the hardest parts of army. if you need a friend, i'm here" John continued with a knowing look. Ghost, not yet trusting his own voice, settled for a noncommittal hmm in response.

ghost had ever experienced before. Ghost is a hard man to read, keeping his composure was part of the job, yet he had no doubt that John could see right through him in this moment, dissecting every thought and feeling the man has and Ghost is content to let him.

at the man and also from sharing too much information about himself (by his standards).

"well i'm glad you decided to join us! i can only imagine how difficult this transitional period is for you, i hope the church can bring some comfort" John's voice was so light and full of life, nothing like

Ghost coughed slightly before finally responding to the man. "err no have lived here a while, just left the military and uh didn't really know how else to spend my time so i thought i'd come here" Ghost felt his face redden slightly, both from the realisation he just spent too long looking directly

yet Ghost was here, staring religion right in the eye. Ghost was speechless, like he was on a higher plane just from looking at the other man. "i've never seen you here before, new to town?" the distinctly scottish voice continued, smile only growing as he maintained eye contact with Ghost.

his eyes were the deepest blue he had ever seen on another person, the stained window behind him was the only competition yet John still won by a mile. it was truly as if god had hand crafted them himself, as if they were never intended for a mortal to see.
