I've personally had friends harassed off of socmed and now stick to private Discords because of this new wave of conservatism hiding in plain sight.

Even if harassment wasn't an issue, using fascist rhetoric on anything, no matter how small, is still incredibly dangerous.

a) It takes very little effort to find the number of people that lost their lives due to actions by antis.

b) No one said they have a monopoly. Pointing out a problem does not negate all other problems in the world. This thread was about purity culture, so that's what I discussed.

The Chinese government is still a threat. But it's important to note that:

- The American government is just as much of a threat (if not more)
- Tiktok is the least of our worries
- Government =/= country. CCP is bad, China is not.
- Tiktok ban was an attempt to censor free speech, not protect us
