Thanks to this man for allowing David Simon access to the BPD Homicide Unit in 1988, leading to the book "Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets.” Fans of #TheWire will recognize the name from the fictional school in Season 4. Edward J. Tilghman died 35 years ago today.
