Trying to find the balance between staying informed and staying sane in the PNW
To me, the humility is a big part of the award. You are doing this not for self-aggrandizement or self-enrichment, or to be seen as a hero or a savior. You’re doing it for something much more important than any single one of us.

That is a huge revision. I lived about 5 miles from the epicenter of Loma Prieta in 1989, and it was only revised from 7.1 to 6.9.

They aren’t following or watching a media source that is even reporting it. Inside their echo chambers, they may not even know it is happening.

I think it was tongue in cheek, but in any event, don’t forget that the USA and USSR were allies during WW2. Sometimes, adversaries have to come together to do battle with a greater, common threat.

As I have recently begun to seriously de-Google my life as much as reasonably possible, this certainly gives me more motivation to continue.

Why should tips get special treatment? I am for the rest of this, and I really think tips should be abolished and everybody paid a dignified wage, but I see no reason why tips should get special treatment compared to any other working class labor.

And don't forget to breathe, disconnect from current events occasionally, and recharge with finding beauty and joy around you, even when that seems harder to find and harder to do. THEN get back in there. It's critical for keeping our sanity if we don't want to flame out and burn out.

This is one of my biggest questions out of this. How much will the financial markets actually trust any economic data coming from this administration?

It's not a profile in courage if you know the votes are there anyway. McCain's thumbs down to save the ACA, THAT was a profile in courage. Not this.

Thank you. We obviously need to stay informed and engaged, but in order to get through this we need to be reminded of the little things that still bring us joy. I refuse to let that man suck all the joy out of my life.

And think about how much more aid you could provide if California, like many other blue states, were not so massively subsidizing red states at the federal level.
