We all have the ability to learn languages and we need to take responsibility for our own learning. Having the best teacher or the latest technology at hand isn't enough to guarantee success; we need to do our own part.
All correct!

I love doing a mix. First, spend a week or two in the mountains, and then spend a week or two by the sea.

Well done. All grammatically correct. But in the first case I would probably answer "I love both of them equally" or something like that. But I like the answer "both of them" because it's almost as if you are ignoring the question and just saying what's true for you.

Well done. I was lucky to meet all of my grandparents. And I have a picture of me on my great grandmother's lap, but I don't remember it because I was only 1 year old. 😔

Well done. And often you find woman who are both beautiful AND intelligent. 😜

Well done. In the second sentence, you should finish either "organise A good family feast" or "organise good family FEASTS", plural.

That's good advice. And I believe that the more goodwill that we show, the more we will receive. 😊

Well done. And who sets all of that up, Bosco. Are you involved?

It is so interesting how Spain has adopted all of these "foreign" holiday traditions. In my house here in BCN we had Santa Clause, the Caga Tío and the Kings. And, my wife's birthday is the 17th of December. Too much celebration in such a short time. :-)

This sentence is correct, BUT we tend to use this expression when we speak about someone/something that bothers us on a regular basis, not just once. Again, the sentence is correct, but remember if you had a thorn in your side, you would feel the pain throughout the day, not just for a short time.

Very good advice, and a very good (completely correct) sentence. 😊

Also well done. But I would divide this into two related sentences, and separate them with a semicolon (after "thing"). So it would be...

It's always the same thing; there's a colleague who always takes my side when there are different points of view in the office.

Thanks for your participation!

I'm glad you created peace of mind. And yes, it does happen to me. It's all correct, but I would create a new sentence starting with "but I have managed to change..." Or maybe a semi-colon.

"...the wrong side of the bed; but I have managed to change this for my own peace of mind.

All the best!

Once again, well done Bosco. I'm trying to visualize you with sideburns right now. 😊
