Dear diary,

today I managed to detect those pesky Brave users.

(I might be one of them)

I decided that I will be going full inbox zero this weekend.
Been putting off cleaning my gmail for quite some time now.
Going to try Trimbox and share how that goes!

First mess-up doesn't define us, what we do after does.

"The first mistake is never the one that ruins you. It is the spiral of repeated mistakes that follows. Missing once is an accident. Missing twice is the start of a new habit."

The more I get into web dev, the more I find myself wondering how is THIS website build. Have been using Wappalyzer extension to do just that!

It's pretty handy

I have been using Brave browser for months and now it's near impossible to go back to Chrome/Google search.

It's so nice to search away and not have to worry about being spammed with ads the next day about your previous searches.

Highly recommended for folks who value privacy!

Some days detailed commit messages are overrated

I know Claude and Deepseek are everyone's go-to model for coding 🤖.

I like to do things locally and I value privacy 💻, so I will try and go a full week using these local LLMs for coding and see how that affects my workflow.

Will update you as I go 👀

Decided to take the new o3-mini-high for a spin last night and had it solve a Wordle game all by itself. It was quite interesting, it almost failed!

I got to say, it took its sweetest time "thinking" that I almost got bored!
Looking forward to how these models further advance!

🎉 Improved auto-fill is live now!

💡 If your copied job description contains important keywords like "Remote" or "Part Time", it would automatically add them to your job application notes! 📝

I've always hesitated to try Google LLMs because at the start they were really lacking behind other big companies but I gotta say Gemini 2.0 Flash is pretty solid. Have been messing around with it through Google AI studio (100% free) this weekend, it's impressive!

🗓️ January 2025 in numbers:

⏳ Job search got a little slower over the holidays but it's back in full swing in January 2025!

💡One of the best job search advice I've heard is to use job boards like Indeed or LinkedIn to find jobs but do NOT apply from there. Visit the company's website and apply directly there.

It shows to the hiring team that you are willing to go the extra mile to get what you want.

6 months ago, I started building Apply Nexus because I couldn’t find a software out there that truly helped me in my job search. 💼

Never in my wildest dreams did I think so many users worldwide would use it daily. 🌍✨

It’s simply mind-boggling! 🤯

No matter how many times I've used it, combining advanced reasoning with web search will always feel illegal 🤯

Feedback can sometimes be harsh, but it almost always comes from a good place.

One of the early pieces of feedback I received for minimado.com was about adding the ability to customize the typing speed. Done 🫡.

✨ Just shipped a fantastic quality-of-life feature: it alerts you when trying to add a duplicate job.

Useful for folks like myself who use various job boards 👩‍💼👨‍💻

Stay organized and on top of your game!

I am a firm believer that the best products are created when their builders are both the first and most consistent users.

A year ago I had no idea what TypeScript or React was. Coming from Dart and Flutter, TypeScript was a no brainer to me.
JavaScript gives me nightmares.
