Until very recently people lived and worked in the same neighborhood — a mixed income neighborhood. The decision to make everyone work in one place and live in another (segregated) place seems like the root cause of a failing downtown

At this corner cops were demanding that a White woman be allowed to quiz entrants — to 4th Ave and City Hall —about their church membership. This person denied access to anyone deemed unfit

If it’s not a costume I appreciate this person clearly identifying as an asshole in their personal life. That’s a choice many are not brave enough to make and I respect them for it

But our society refuses to respond to many of the pains in our lives. It demand our silence in addition to our suffering

We can’t improve public health with facts until we can admit that we are suppressing public health

Why would our human world be adapted to our human needs and schedules, when there is a carefully documented calendar that could dictate our daily lives?
