I hope we have a fantastic female president within your lifetime. You just know they will be held to a level of scrutiny incomparable to the current sitting sleaze.

Bethesda did a series of updates for Fallout 4 for the TV show seasons that added some paid mods but broke existing mods and added a ton of new bugs that make the game near unplayable. Most modders have moved on. Bethesda is now only fixing bugs related to their paid mods…

That’s great news but Miami is not Texas. We’re talking 30 years of Rush Limbaugh-esque radio propaganda and every pastor being a MAGA conservative preaching politics from the pulpit. There’s a lot of crazy beliefs about the Democrats that have been reinforced into their heads for decades.
December 12, 2025 at 9:44 AM
They aren’t paying attention. They’re just totally checked out and find modern politics stressful. Yet they still vote every presidential election. It’s insane how little the masses are paying attention to these major shifts. Liberty dies with apathy like in Russia.

It’s tough because obstruction has been the Republican playbook for years because the lack of results creates voter apathy. However, Democrats have not been clear or creative with specific major policy solutions since the ACA in 2009. The party barely wants to win because it has corporate donors.

Please tell me why I should vote for Crockett instead of Talarico. What is her messaging? What is her vision for Texas and US politics? Attacking people and insinuating they’re racist (sometimes they are) isn’t going to help her cause either. What is she offering?
December 12, 2025 at 9:32 AM
At a personal level, I know virtually nothing about Crockett’s track record, but I have had months to listen to Talarico, an open progressive. Is Crockett a progressive? If she’s going to run, she needs strong messaging to all Texans, not just her urban constituents.

Yeah, MAGA tent and Neocons are abysmal and helping promote authoritarianism, but the Democrats don’t win on virtue of not being fascists. They need to offer something tangible and modernize and renew FDR’s programs into the 21st century. A lot of working class feels left behind by Democrats.

I try to remain optimistic but Texas is no Virginia. Just because Trump sucks and MAGA is buckling a bit doesn’t automatically equate to a blue wave. Democrats HAVE TO EARN those votes! Instead, they feel entitled to them. They need to actually offer something tangible that speaks to working class.

I’m pretty sure everyone in the replies here would vote for her in the general. We just think her background and history isn’t going to appeal to disillusioned Christians. Talarico appeals to white ;and Hispanic working class who have fallen out with both parties. She doesn’t have that reputation.
December 9, 2025 at 8:30 AM
It’s about being realistic. Talarico has a better chance of appealing to disillusioned evangelicals and swing voting working class AS A PROGRESSIVE. Crockett seems great, but on account of her urban background and gender/ethnicity, she’s realistically even more disadvantaged in a Texas election.

Beto lost by 40K votes in 2018 to Cruz. A lot of people didn’t vote because they figured a Dem winning the seat was impossible. Too bad Beto tanked his popularity with Texas moderates in 2020.

They see the tariffs and statements as merely trying to return to a state of parity between the US and other countries. The isolationist shift is due to ignorance, poor education, and not understanding that Trump serves the very groups that rotted out the working class in the first place. 2/2
December 8, 2025 at 3:08 AM
The majority of the people that voted for the bastard did so because they view the underbelly of working class America being hollowed out, and partially blaming foreign countries uncritically because they live in an American ignorance bubble. He tells them other countries are taking advantage. 1/2

I love how Mike Johnson delaying ended up giving her a lot of attention and popularity that most house members dream of.
