Yeah I've used mine a lot for music production and running AI stuff locally over the years so.....ah well. I'd still put in a support ticket with Microsoft although if it's also happening with Linux I'm thinking it's hardware problem.

Yeah I'm all out of ideas now that is really strange. How old is your hardware? Mine is beginning to experience slow down just from wear and tear and it's only 4 years old.

I can't help you there, these are all the things I did when I was experiencing slowdown. Could put in a support ticket with Microsoft. Have you checked task manager to see if disk usage is at like 100% at all times?

Disk Cleanup and deleting temporary files is always a good shout too

Ah ok that's good. Might be time to scan the SSDs and HDDs and maybe defrag any HDDs too (but don't defrag SSD, you probably knew that though).

Sounds like an issue with windows update and/or the paging file which is created which saves a copy of what you're doing to your hard drive. (Shutdown is essentially hibernate now) + your hard drive health. I'd scan the disk for errors and do disk cleanup.
