Whenever I read “Postcapitalism” by Paul Mason, it’s just so prescient.

Paul Mason still being absurdly relevant.

Seems good.

It is absolutely insane that the existential threat of AMOC collapse has this headline.

Unlike households?????

Public Advocates Office analysis shows that rates crisis has gotten worse again in Q3 2024. Another 85k people in arrears since May and average amount owed increased by $74. Shits real bad.

Energysky, need some help w/ this one. How is a plant going online in 2028 increase EPS starting this year? Is MSFT prepaying for some of the energy? Is it because they are ratebasing the nuke restart CAPEX? Vaporware claims? Like this makes 0 sense to me.

I really like how this IPCC vehicle size chart stops at 2200 kg and then there's the the new line of EVs like the Ford F150 Lightning which are well above 3,000 kg. How can that be considered a light-duty vehicle at this point?

For a country w/ no gas to speak of, these are some truly astonishing numbers.

This sort of climate-risk analysis from FarmerMac can extend to more areas than just water. It's a good start though.

Can you really be a CO2 removal expert if the industry doesn't really exist?

Check out my office's 2nd quarter report on the rates crisis in California. Some 1/5 of households are behind on their energy bills, which is an insane number. www.publicadvocates.cpuc.ca.gov/-/media/cal-...

Speaking of congestion charges, this was in the IEA's report on how to keep 1.5C within reach.

After all, there is only one facility making this stuff.

The DOE's projections for sustainable aviation fuels is insane. Almost 1.3B tons/yr (35B gal) in a "mature market" seems ludicrously high when current SAF production is like 16M gal.

A third grader made this art from up-cycled trash. I can't describe how much I love this. Incredible symbolism for our times.

In case ya’ll didn’t know, Ford’s flagship EV offering is 6000-7000 lbs. Truly a monstrosity of American creation.

I saw this (sustainable) tag on a school lunch item ingredient list. The company is Albie’s Food Products and I wonder how they’re making this claim.

Guess who wrote a paper about this in 2019. The aquaculture industry is rife with greenwashing and a lot of scientific denalism.

Looking back at my NYC energy bills, growing up poor really helps you save energy. Really not that hard to lower emissions. You learn to live w/o luxuries like AC.
