It’s weird because nothing about the contestants fundamentally changed. They still have the same skill as they did at the beginning. But making the smart bet requires a Monty Hall Problem-like switch because something subtle about the contest’s circumstances changed. 5/5

But what if you placed a new bet after the 5th round, when the immunity had been used up? In this case, I think it makes more sense to bet against the contestant that used immunity. Compared to the other contestants, they don’t have enough proven experience in winning rounds. 4/n

Now, we don’t know anything about the contestant’s skills or odds of winning a fair contest. The only thing that distinguishes them is that one has immunity.

So if you were to bet on a winner, who would you pick? Obviously the one with immunity. They simply have fewer chances to be eliminated. 3/n

The immunity lets them skip a single round and advance to the next one without being eliminated. (To avoid any tricky strategies, suppose the one lucky contestant gets awarded immunity at the beginning but uses it in the 5th round, if they last that long.) 2/n

But I thought that the Taskmooseter himself did a great job!

I watched some episodes before coming! I think I was missing some ShmooCon lore, though. I didn’t know the people on stage and how they were selected.

Congrats on winning! I wish I had more context for Taskmooseter— they sure did give you a hard time for knowing some math!

So many other things to do at the con!

One of those was me!
