It's probably a bit of both. Tougher funding options might be pushing devs to Kickstarter, but it also feels like a comeback for crowdfunding, especially for passion projects.

Have you tried Cocoon yet? Very elegant game design right down to audio, couldn't drop the controller down till I finished the game 😅
