Do you feel we need to go back to a 4-3-3? Back 5 works great against so called "better" sides like Chelsea, Arsenal but we struggle to create chances in games like this and Everton with it.
Also has Neil lost the trust of RLB? a game that might suit third midfielder and he's not getting being used

How amazing to see just how much Mayenda has come on in the last 5 months, in December he misses an opportunity like that, now he finishes it with such composure like it was never in doubt he was going to score it. Massive development from a wonderful player.

What does RLB do on the left hand side after a quite frankly disgraceful performance from Tommy Watson, lad shouldn't play another minute this season. Basically had 9 men for 85 minutes.

Why on earth was LO9 taking penalties over the other attacking players 🙈🙈

How big of a worry is it that recent performances have led up to a result like today and RLB seems out of ideas on how to get us playing again?

And how much do you think the lack of rotation in the first half of the season is effecting us with the poor performances/player fatigue?

I've been critical all season of RLB's in game management, particularly subs, but it was really good today to see him being proactive after 55 mins, seeing it wasn't working and getting Isidor and Cirkin on to effect the game. Changes that won us the game with Isidor getting the assist for Meps

Slightly unrelated but is there anything going on with Youngs loan at Salford? Hardly played, rumours we might recall so plays a handful of games doing really well and now back barely playing again after recall clause expired. Frustrating for a player I think we all hope could challenge next season

Is there a reason why Le Bris continues to play the same starting 11 and seems reluctant to change even though performances are dipping? I understand the need for some continuity, but it feels a little like it's coming at the detriment of the team when there are now good options waiting

Purely for hilarity purposes is that the best winning goal this season? 😂 Enzo Le Fee's touch and cross 🤤 sensational footballer

Your personal opinion on Isidor's goal that never was? Looked to me like a group of refs who were doing everything they could to rule it out. Common sense needs to prevail, lucky it didn't cost us!

Was Alese/Cirkin sub tactical or injury based?
January 5, 2025 at 5:37 PM
What was RLB's thinking behind the tactical change in this game? 4-4-2 worked brilliantly and both Mayenda/Isidor caused SU problems all game

What do you think was changed at half time to spur us on to win? To me it seemed like we pushed up higher and were more aggressive in the press second half?

Also, 10 points won from losing positions in the last 4 games shows great resilience in the team to bounce back

Is this one of the best, if not the best, comeback in recent Sunderland history? Personally can't think of a better one 🤤

For all that the club is rightfully praised for the opportunities given to young players, is there a fair argument that the club can also be guilty at times of mismanaging the minutes of these players? Doyle, Neil in 21/22, Jobe 23/24, now Rigg is being played week after week and looks very tired

How good will Tommy Watson become! 🙌
December 7, 2024 at 4:52 PM
Yeah 1 goal in 3 years I think it was, I remember he missed a penalty against Stoke at home ironically 😂 was such a good player though, the 6 months we had him and Sess in the same team was tantalising 🤤
December 4, 2024 at 8:48 AM
To be fair that might help you against us as we're struggling to break teams down at the moment. If we can get an early goal I think it could be comfortable for us. Dig in and take a chance or two if it falls for you, though we've actually been really good at restricting away chances at home.

Never understood Neil's move to Stoke, though I can admit here we weren't always entertaining but solid and effective, knew once we appointed him he'd take us up. Don't think we'd have been anywhere near play offs in 22/23 had he stayed. Just never seemed to get going with you guys though.

Yep, I think we used to say similar about Sessegnon, wonderfully skillful player and an absolute joy to watch, but if he had good end product he wouldn't have played for us 😂😂
