An official from an international org operating in Gaza reported witnessing an Israeli tank stationed hundreds of meters away from a Palestinian armed with a Kalashnikov, with no intervention from the IDF as drivers were beaten & food stolen.

Local police forces have attempted to intervene but were met with attacks by the IDF, which views them as part of Hamas and continuously targets them with artillery.

Aid organizations have suggested a Palestinian or international police force, which israel has rejected.

These armed attacks occur under IDF watch, typically only hundreds of meters away.

Militants then stop trucks by shooting at tires or using barriers, demanding a "passage fee" of 15k NIS (~$4k) per truck, and threaten drivers with violence or kidnapping if they resist.

-In October, israel closed Erez crossing and imposed a siege on large areas of North Gaza governorate, including Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun and most of Jabalya.

-So far in November, ALL attempts to access these areas in the North have been DENIED.
