Even with (waves hand at the world) all that’s going on, I’m glad we can still celebrate and have joy.

Last weekend my husband and I drove to western New York. We saw Lake Ontario, we stayed in a tiny village, saw geese, then brought a puppy 🐶 home.

This is Artemis. She’s 10 weeks old. She’s getting to know us and slowly building a relationship with Apollo. We’re so happy she has come to join us!

Just before Christmas I made an “emotional support chicken” as a gift.

In February I took the two patterns (for chicken accessories and for little chicks) and knit to coordinate with the original chicken.

Now back to my never-ending scrap blanket and figuring out the next project. 🧶

My daughter chose the yarn, chose the charts to use, helped me troubleshoot, and was available for many fit checks as I knitted. She is now rewarded with warm hands. 🧶

The yellow/green yarn was handspun from spunky eclectic fiber (Godzilla colorway), dark green yarn was an alpaca blend I bought.

I finished another knitting project!

They did go right from my needles to being used - so if they looks a little lumpy in places then you know why items are usually washed after they are finished.

The color is somewhere in between these two, neither shows it completely accurately. 🧶

Also shown, another cowl I am making - the second one using this same yarn and pattern, just a different stripe pattern to hopefully match the ratio of the yarn I have left.

I’m running out early, so I took some of the same wool and dyed it with black walnut hulls. I took a bit and blended it with some dark yellow I still had while I was hand carding. Now to spin, wash, and knit to finish the project!

Recent knitting projects:
I’ve been making this tree-bark brioche knit cowl/hood. The blue/black is handspun (spunky eclectic) and the white/yellow/orange/brown gradient yarn was dyed by me using things from my yard over the summer, and then spun by me. 🧶

I did a fiber advent in December. I had 29 ounces total and spun all but three days of the month. The yarn pictures are all prewash (but I measured yardage after the yarn dried).

The denim picture also has the seafoam fiber. Length is in yards.

I had fun spinning it! 🧶

I finished knitting this cowl a couple weeks ago, but finally unpinned it and seamed it up today! 🧶

My husband and I chose the yarn during a summer shop hop - it’s one of the few projects using commercial yarn that I’ve worked on this year.

Yesterday was making sourdough bread and stir fry. Today was organizing, resting, and reading.

I’ve finished four books recently. I love how books in my list forever end up being read concurrently & going together (like by any other name and the women).

I’m now reading two more: 1 ebook, 1 paper.

I usually knit with handspun lately, but I’ve been working with commercial yarn for this project. This yarn was chosen during a shop hop this summer. 🧶
