4. Give Up

This album by the Postal Service honestly lives so rent free in my brain for so many reasons. Themes, haunting melody, memories of writing bad prose in a Panera for days on end. Just, Vibes.

3. Demon Days

Yeah yeah yeah, common answer from Gorillaz, but they are one of my favourite artists, and like almost every album of theirs could be considered a favourite.

But “Fire Coming Out Of the Monkey’s Head” is one of my favourite songs of all time. So that tips things.

2. Songs from the Wood

Jethro Tull was a huge inspiration for me, doubly so once I started playing the flute. But as iconic Aqualung is, Songs from the Wood, specifically the songs Cup of Wonder and Thick as a Brick, mean more to me than most.

1. Quodrophenia

This album got us through high school alone. The themes around identity, being an outcast, regrets, and struggles living with communal trauma particularly resonates even now.

Also The Dirty Jobs lives rent free as one of my favourite tracks.
