also made a bunch of icons, designed to look like stickers put into the ui

most of it is similar to the old adobe version (and squarespace before that) but with more life and animation and overall better feeling layouts

my new contact page (still need to write a good bio) but at least it exists now. little fun interaction when u hover the contact boxes where the icons turn retro

all of the buttons and other interactable things have subtle animations

some fun details and new things - first my custom rounded cursors

obviously this project would require so much work to become real and would require changes to pretty much everything about computers. BUT its just a concept, trying to solve some of the problems i have with the current paradigm computers use, and maybe parts of it could be taken into a normal os?

i intended for the ui to recede into your content, but i still wanted subtle depth and tactility, and all the forms are bubbly and round for a playful feel. i think a future version would include themes that you can use to personalize (because a wallpaper doesn't work on an infinite canvas)

because multiverse doesn't have filetypes, if you need to share something to the outside world, the os will convert to a file format for you before uploading to cloud storage or wherever else

any email or text or whatever else can be pinned in the communication space if it's important but not related to a group of files, but can also be pinned somewhere else, like the school space. this is helpful if it's a teacher for a class and you want to see all the emails they send in context.

focus mode blurs out any distractions for a cleaner workspace

there are different spaces for different activities - like school, work, personal, and two special ones for media and communication. all of your streaming services and stuff are pinned in the media space, and all your texting and probably social media live in the communication space

there are markup tools that let you draw on top of everything, including the background - so if you're writing an essay, you can cross out your notes to help you stay organized. you use the first pen to draw boxes around groups of files that let the os know that they're a group

similarly, you can search and zoom over to what you're trying to find, or drag from a search result to another file to merge them together (this is how you use something in something else, because drag and drop is how you organize)

to make a new file, you just draw a rectangle and type what you want to make

in multiverse, instead of having to drag a file between different apps, you change the tool palette around a file itself - a photo is just a photo, able to be edited however you need with whatever tools you have

with a browser-style file manager, i find that it gets annoying having to scan, double click, scan again, click, repeat to find the specific file i want. in multiverse, everything is on an infinite canvas, so you can just scroll over to a group of files that are always there
