My favorite thing about social media is accidentally discovering books, music or movies I never would have heard of otherwise. So I will try to do this here from time to time.

“A Short Stay In Hell” by Steven Peck. A man goes to hell and has to spend Eternity in an infinite library looking for the book that describes the story of he’s life. Brilliant book that deals with all of the weird consequences of the premise. You’ll spend months thinking about it. #booksky

It was weird to find out that this was the origin of the “you are tearing me apart Lisa!!!” Scene From The Room. Loved how much complicated the character were without over explaining things. Just vague hints of why they are the way they are. I finally understand the James Dean hype #filmsky

The Substance - I kept waiting for the movie to calm the hell down for a second and let me catch my breath but it never did. It even accelerated towards the end. Loved but will probably never watch it again. #filmsky

Woodworking by @emilystjams.bsky.social is the beautiful tale of friendship between two trans women and their struggles with the mostly cruel world around them. If you’re a cis dude like me who finds it hard to understand what it’s like to be trans this book is a crucial reading. #booksky

Ghostlight- a beautiful story about coping with loss trough art and the catharsis we experience from fiction. #filmsky

The book of strange new things by Michel Faber- a missionary travels to a distant land and writes to his wife back home. A beautiful slow reveal of what the story really about and a brilliant literary trick I haven’t seen before: the title of every chapter is the last line of the chapter. #booksky

good science fiction says something about the time it was written in. This book says a lot about refugees, colonization and inequality. plus a touching gay love story with a brilliant romantic misunderstanding. #booksky

@patrickhwillems.bsky.social was right, the pov hugs in this movie are more exciting than any action scene I ever seen. My favorite thing about watching movies is seeing a shot I’ve never seen before. The entire movie had this feeling. #FilmSky
