The "highest CMC" clause is a big help but I do feel like people tend to prefer Fleshbag Marauder et al at that rate because of how much easier it is to recur creatures most of the time.

re some previous comments I will be honest I did basically rely on build guides the whole way and still enjoyed myself enough to get the secret ending

since this usually ends up with PCs being European-coded even if the portrayed setting is not that since that's kind of the generic fantasy expectation.

I do think on a meta level, the "stranger in a strange land" archetype requires much less buy-in from players when building a character without extensive lore dumps from the GM or a requirement for shared world building sessions. This does arguably still circle back into colonialism /1

Have they stopped making the slideshow mandatory to understand the audio? I bounced off it multiple times because of that.
